Seminar: Identifying the Potential of Turkey’s Health Tourism with the “Vitapera Clinic”

Publication Date:July 24, 2024

In collaboration with Vitapera and Arel University, a seminar was held on April 24, 2024, at the Arel University’s Cevizlibağ Campus. The seminar named, Turkey’s Health Tourism Potential with ‘Vitapera Clinic” organized in partnership with Vitapera and Arel University was indeed a great opportunity to share ideas and discuss numerous interesting questions pertaining to health tourism.

We at Vitapera as a clinic with years of experience in health tourism were happy to elaborate with the legalities, services and patient management systems that we have put in place. undefined

Health tourism can be described as traveling in pursuit of cure or treatment and can be defined as patients crossing borders to seek treatment. Growth of health tourism as a global phenomenon presents several possibilities for clinics, intermediary organizations, as well as health tourists.

In a survey carried out by Global Healthcare Accreditation, Turkey was fifth among the health tourism countries in 2019 with 700,000 patients. Turkish health tourism has great prospects that can turn it into a global leader today. The main factor that has contributed to this success is the provision of sophisticated technological treatments at relatively low costs.

Besides, the achievements of our professional doctors, the comfort of the clinics, and the opportunity to acquaint ourselves with the culture of our country are the reasons for this success. The patients who come to Turkey for treatment can also have a great vacation. Further, clinics as ours make life even easier to the patients through offering all the services they may require.

For instance, at Vitapera, we offer our patients highly effective aftercare, including follow-up monitoring, transportation, and comfortable lodgings. This exceptional experience makes Turkey an invaluable country for the patients who have had positive experiences.

At our clinic, which is one of the most popular health tourism clinics, we often receive questions concerning the actions that should be taken before starting. This is because, as much as health tourism has its benefits, it also has several drawbacks.

Today, the health tourism industry is a very competitive market. Thanks to the support of Arel University, it was beneficial for us to answer these commonly asked questions. It was possible to explain the features of health tourism to many participants.

We also used the official statistical data on health and our patient-treatment charts during the panel to make our arguments even more informed.

This can only mean that the field of health tourism needs further research. There are many concepts to learn, including the types of treatments, patient choices and characteristics, connections between the global market and health care, and the rules.

Most especially in Turkey, the high standards of health tourism can only be sustained if health care facilities and other intermediaries concerned can fulfill certain conditions. We were able to explain how this process can work for new ventures, given our experience in the industry.
